earlier design. It's not legible at this resolution, but this version has the fish inscribed with the phrase, "NIH Rocks!" to honor the many people who cared for me (or my cells!) during my extended stay at the National Institutes of Health.

I've spent a lot of time at NIH over the past year. It feels like my home away from home.

I carved roses and leaves from potatoes, and together we stamped them with acrylic paint. The circles were stamped using the eraser at the top of a pencil.
We went through a lot of potatoes that day!

Coloring it in gave me ample time to reflect on my own Dad. He died five years ago yesterday.
Maybe the two will find each other in the afterlife!
